Language Barrier and Relationships 101

Greetings, my fellow human specimens.
Today I am going to illustrate a dream I recently had in a cartoonishly-storylike way.
It's about this boy named Kenkino and this girl named Derpina who apparently mistook chemistry for love.

This boy is Kenkino.

Biodata :
1) Has near-perfect mastery of the English language.
2) Stresses the importance of excellent grammar especially in speech and writing.
3) Obtained a bandwidth of 8.5 out of 9 in his IELTS (International English Language Testing System) which only a few people in the world managed to obtain.

And this girl is Derpina.

Biodata :
1) Came to Malaysia to study from Korea.
2) English is her second language whereas Korean is her primary spoken language.
3) Her grammar isn't anywhere near good when it comes to both speaking and writing.
4) Has a weird accent when speaking English.

Storyline :
Kenkino and Derpina met in college and they are both attracted to each other. However, Kenkino wasn't really interested to hang out with Derpina when she is with her other Korean friends because they speak the Korean language which Kenkino does not comprehend one bit. If he was there with them, they would be complied to change to English so that Kenkino could understand what they were saying. And Kenkino does not like it one bit. Plus, Derpina's accent when speaking English is what fluent-english-speakers would undoubtedly label as weird. However Kenkino forces himself to just ignore the language barrier between them as he had chemistry for her. Little does he realize the major implication of primary language differences in a relationship. If he could not understand the Korean language at all, then he would not be able to associate himself with Derpina's other friends at all, and consequently Kenkino would not familiarize himself with Derpina's Korean side of life at all. This disadvantage caused by different backgrounds of two people would be a major blow in their relationship. If they were to get married next time, Kenkino would have to force himself to mix with Derpina's other Korean relatives, family members and friends even when their English speaking skills is downright difficult to understand and he would feel ignored when they are all talking in their native tongue not English. Also, Kenkino would have to endure the ordeal of not being able to understand what Derpina is talking about when she is with her other Korean friends. So Kenkino thought it over and analyzed what kind of life he would have in the future if he ever got married to Derpina. He decided that his marriage with Derpina would not be happy because of various factors like cultural differences, primary language differences, different types of friends and family members, et cetera. Also, he realized that what he had for Derpina is just chemistry, not love. Thus, Kenkino decided to break up with Derpina instead of going any further into their relationship as it just would not work out. Now, Kenkino is currently married to a beautiful girl (same race and religion) who speaks perfect english, has the same types of friends and family members which he could talk freely with, they both share the same cultural backgrounds and their IQ levels are almost the same. And Kenkino could not have been happier.

*applause to the happy ending*

Now what is the moral of the story?
1) When searching for a relationship, find a person who speaks the same primary language as you, shares the same cultural background as you, has friends that you could relate and talk freely with, et cetera.

2) Do not confuse chemistry with love, as they are both very different from each other. Learn to tell whether you really love the other person or simply have chemistry which often results from a lack of sleep (urge to cuddle).

Randomness :

A Sense Of Poise And Rationality.

Hello, peeps!
Got myself a new spectacle frame with a 50% discount price tag!
The perfect time to finally clear out my to-buy list.

Sigh, maybe I should try out LASIK eye laser surgery to get perfect eyesight and end wearing glasses once and for all.

Went shopping at Boulevard today, and I absolutely fancy the new wing! Now all Boulevard needs is a new cineplex and Kuching-nites can kiss The Spring goodbye heh!

List of items bought :
1) New spectacle frame (excluding lens) = RM 100
2) Bodyglove slim straight cut jeans = RM 195
3) Diesel dark green t-shirt = RM 8
4) Greatness Is Within t-shirt = RM 8
5) Diesel yellowish-tan t-shirt = RM 8

Spent some time in the shower and got to ponder about some of the poops in life :
1) The best way to deal with a problem is to analyze it with a sense of poise and rationality so we would be able to balance as to is it really worth investing so much of our thought and time in? If not, then just stop thinking about it.

2) The feeling of emotional distress especially caused by people we genuinely care about is like a sword being pierced through one's heart. True enough, emotional pain is felt more intensely than physical wounds.

Random note, my mommy's smile is so charming :3

Wind Cave, Bau

Happy Wednesday, peeps! (Y)

My parents and I made a random decision to visit Wind Cave (Gua Angin) in Bau area this morning. Guess it's the holiday spirit eh? :D

I'll just let the following pictures do the talking on behalf of mua.

Overall, my personal opinion of Wind Cave is that it's smaller than expected ._.
There was only 3 cave trails to follow and it only took less than 30 minutes to trek the entire park. My advice to all of you who are looking for an authentic adventure, go check out Mulu Cave near Miri town. That'll really be a memorable trip because Mulu Cave is literally about 1000 times bigger than the tiny Wind Cave.

One thing good about Wind Cave though, is that it has a very nice and not-overly deep river just beside it. Great for barbeques and swimming with friends and family. Do come check it out sometime. Definitely worth the trip! Exactly 18 more days in Kuching, oh time why pass so fast? D:

Friday and Digestion

Happy Friday, peeps!
Who doesn't love fridays?
Why, even this pig loves friday! :D

Made a rash decision on cutting my fringe. Can't say I regretted it though, I kinda like my new look. Too lazy to style my hair just for the sake of taking and uploading a picture here. All I can say is that sometimes rash decisions bring forth unexpected results (good or bad).

Here's a picture of a lovely crystal piano of top-notch quality. Oh how I wish my piano was like this. I'm willing to bet that the sound it makes is heavenly.

Let's see, what I've been experiencing these couple of days. Ever since I started my diet of eating an apple a day for the sake of increasing my fiber intake, I've been experiencing some very mild stomach and gastrointestinal discomfort. Researched it on google and found out that it's normal. Let me quote from some website I found while googling.

If your body isn't used to fiber, you may notice that you feel cramping, gas and bloating when you start adding it to your diet. Discomforts such as gas and bloating are more common with soluble fiber because gas is a byproduct of bacteria breaking down the fiber in your large intestine.

Also, I took a fiber intake calculator based on body height, weight, et cetera.
Here's my results.

When I first saw it, I was like 'omg, 28 grams of fiber?' because a large apple only has 5 grams of fiber. So to achieve my recommended daily intake of fiber would be to eat a minimum of 5 apples a day which is a no-go for me. So guess I'm sticking to 1-2 apples a day. The rest of the fiber I'll just leave it to my veggies. =)

Also, to ensure that my digestive system is really kept healthy, I've been taking Lacto-5 Probiotics capsules. It does help in maintaining normal bowel function and compete with the bad bacteria and fungus inside my intestines. Google the terms 'probiotics' and 'friendly bacteria' for more information if this is the first time you've heard about it.

Alright think I'll wrap this post up with a quote we all should already know.
'An apple a day keeps the doctor away' or rather the original version of it :
'Ait a happle avore gwain to bed, An' you'll make the doctor beg his bread'

Early morning blogging =)

Good morning, my dear readers!
Oh my, look at the time. It's the semi-unearthly hour of 6am!
I have this penchant of blogging early in the morning, I have no idea why but hey, it's not a bad thing right? :D

As usual, there's always at least a pic of myself in every post. VANITY OH VANITY, shoo! Btw, that's me right there at the side, smiling profusely. My first time snapping a pic in this manner! Heh.

Random note, check this guy out!

I'M SINGLE N KICKIN!
Some people prefer being single and mess around abit but personally I'm getting rather tired of it sigh. Every man needs a woman by his side. No doubt about that.

Random quote : A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.

What really makes a man happy is being able to provide for his wife and kids next time. Heck, some men actually look forward to the responsibilities he'll put on his own shoulders after marriage. I remember my Mandarin teacher telling us once that last time in China, men get married first before they start to work so that they just HAVE to work to feed their wife and kids. But this isn't the case today though, not a single girl would want to marry a guy who doesn't have a good degree and a job. So guys, study hard and earn some cash first before thinking about settling down.

Yesterday, I came across the fb timeline of a friend of a friend of mine who had a cover photo that cracked me up!

HAHAHAHAH! I literally laughed my ass off when I saw that 'foreveralone' face beside the 'WELCOME TO MY TIMELINE!' phrase. I DARE any of you guys to post it as your new fb cover photo :D

To wrap this rather random post, here's a funny youtube video on how a Korean translator mispronounced the word Coke as C*ck. I laughed my brains out and replayed it so many times and thought I'd share it here too. Enjoy and have a blessed day ahead! :D

New Chapter Of My Life

Hey peeps, sunny saturday we have here.

I'll be heading to KL to start my dentistry degree in less than a month's time.
My campus will be Segi University College at Kota Damansara.
Honestly, I can't wait start this exciting new chapter of my life!
I actually feel like being there right now.

After all, KL is where everything is happening.
Concerts, international performances, riots, etc.
Also, the endless shopping and entertainment that Kuching is obviously missing out on.

Feel like eating this now.

That's right, Sunny Hill's delicious ice cream!
Perfect for a hot Saturday afternoon like today.

This will be my campus which I'll be spending 5 whole years of stress and endless studying. There's a test every monday which contributes to each semester's marks. Goodbye weekends sigh.

Interesting thing about this campus though, is that you could spot Greek stone statues of philosophers in almost every nuke and corner of each building. Hahah, I find them quite fascinating to stare at.

Classical music for stress busting

Good morning, peeps!
Just staring at the morning skyline in Kuching automatically puts a smile on my face. =)
Tranquil and beautiful sky in the Island of Borneo.
Can't help but to leap in joy =P

The beautiful background is at Santubong's golf course btw.
The pristine surroundings combined with the fresh cold morning air really induces the feeling of glee within oneself.

Random note, I think everyone has experienced this situation below before.

So next time you feel like changing your answer, remember this pic and just stick to your original answer. If by any chance your original answer was wrong then.. TOUGH LUCK LOL

Kenkino's stress relieving tip :

1) Close all your room windows
2) Switch on the air-conditioner
3) Turn your speakers on to maximum volume (sound surround system if possible)
4) Play a classical music piece like the vid I posted above.
5) Experience mind-blowing sudden subconscious urge to move your hands like a conductor of an orchestra and feel energetic all of a sudden.

ps : The fifth step only works when listening to some of those dramatic classical pieces (with Latin lyrics) like the one I posted. Some of the milder pieces still help to relieve stress by inducing a certain degree of clarity of mind to the listener.

Have a great day ahead!
